I’m now taking entries for this seasons Grampian Super League…..the comp will run from September 2011 thru to March 2012.. Please note that Sh88ters Chapel Street have kindly agreed to support the competition and all matches will be played there.
If you want to enter either let me know by responding on this forum, txt me on 07702373708 or email me at mthomson@talisman-energy.com. If you played last year just leave your name, if not then I’ll need your name and mobile number. (I’ve added all those who have already replied to this posting)
No age limit for entry, open to all. Money must get to me before the closing date of Thursday 29th September 2011, if I don’t have the money you ain’t in the draw! Please send me a PM re paying, I would rather a bank transfer is done and will give you the details.
Same format as last year, £30 entry fee, players divided into 4 groups. There will be 16 players placed across the groups as seeds (this will be the highest ranked 16 entrants from the GSL ranking list), the remaining competitors will be drawn into the groups.
Players will have at least 17 weeks to play their respective group games, see schedule below.
All group, last 16, quarter final and semi-final matches will be played at Sh88ters Chapel Street at a fixed rate per match (£2 per person, per match). PLEASE NOTE: Everyone has to pay the £2 per match, even if you are a team member of the club.
Group matches will be over six frames, all six frames must be played, 3 points awarded for a win, 1 for a draw. A match score sheet must be completed and signed by each competitor for all group matches and any break over 50 must be recorded, this score sheet must be lodged behind the bar at Sh88ters, it will then be passed to the Tournament Director for recording. Frame scores will determine final position in the section in the event of drawn points total, so all frames are important, even if your 4-0 down in a match winning the last 2 frames could mean the difference between qualifying or not. In the event of a draw in the final group positions (i.e. points and frames being equal) for a qualifying spot then the result of the group match between the people in question will determine the qualifier, if that was a draw then a 5 frame play off will be arranged.
Top 4 in each group will qualify for the final stages (Last 16).
